#vlc on android has a serious problem with not leaving the UI the hell alone when, on the whole, it worked fine how it was before. stop reinventing the UI every few releases ffs.

how to write a paper (as far as I know): getting started and staying motivated
- results section first
- if you don't have results write the list of needed results - for example "the mean height in the sampled population is ____ , this matches/does not match the literature value" - and urgently find out and fill it in

@lupyuen Complex. Could suggest you aren't benefiting from the things you create (the wealth is *only* for others) or it just means that your work benefits others. Is there a duality like that in the Chinese?

Has anyone here ever heard of or used scuttlebutt? Apparently its a decentralized social media network, in that sense it is like the fediverse. but it uses a totally different approach (gossip network).

@Sphinx I don't know what to make of the ending though. It's weird (and I like the part where Slater gets Malkovich'd), but it's a pretty underwhelming... They end it with this speech about individuality or something, but how is that a theme of this show?
I'm definitely not saying it's bad: endings are hard and wtf do I know about making TV dramas? There *are* a lot of loose ends though (what happens to all the Dark Army operatives after whiterose dies; does Dom loosen up; is Irving's crappy book actually selling that well??) that I would like tied up.
@Sphinx it's compelling. pretty sad. gets the technical stuff right way more than other shows I've seen that include hackers.
