Walt's new body is almost ready, they've nailed the passive-aggressive 'why the hell have you stepped into my office?' mood.

wait what there's an instant pot air fryer lid thingy? how did I not see this
the air fryer thing doesn't excite me nearly as much as you can apparently use it to casserole-ify the things you were already making in the pressure cooker
I make most of the food I cook in that thing because it allows me to "walk away" and get back to work while things cook; maybe this could let me add some new things to my regular cooking routines
@lupyuen what's a use case for this? I've done automated UI regression tests with image-based comparisons, but pixel-by-pixel matching was always least preferred because it makes for very fragile tests.

In case you don't know, Rob Reid is the guy who founded the company that made Rhapsody.
(AKA Morgan Webb's husband)
[After On](https://after-on.com/) is a pretty good podcast. Having listened to other podcasts (like Lex Fridman's) I appreciate that I actually learn something in a lot of the episodes thanks to how well-organized the conversations are.
Reid is working on the next set of episodes, at least [as of last month](https://twitter.com/Rob_Reid/status/1318286128907104256).

This is a really nice way to cook potatoes. IMHO, you don't really need the vinegar: just parboil, toss with fat and seasoning, then roast.
I like adding Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika with the salt and pepper.😋

I love how these old chemists were just chewing on stuff, sniffin' it up, slapping it on rashes. I guess that really is how early #chemistry worked though
Google Drive is weirdly hostile to client-side caching. It returns `Cache-Control: private,max-age=0" but also an `Expires` header with value equal to `Date`... `Cache-Control: no-store` isn't *that* new and Google devs definitely know... Are they trying to fill up caches by confusing naive HTTP clients for some nefarious purpose?!

This seems useful. I hadn't even known what manylinux is, probably since most of my projects are pure Python.
so i hate to do this but seeing as everyone is taking their sweet time getting back to me about jobs, i really don't have anywhere else to turn...
i'm actively seeking employment, and actively getting return phone calls, but no one has extended an offer for employment yet and at this point im scared we wont make bills THIS month, let alone next month...
we will probably just make rent, but wont be able to pay much else.
even if i got a job literally TODAY, my first paycheck could be 3+ weeks out. I'm doing everything i can.
I am desperate, and completely at the mercy of the world.
I am asking that anyone who can, please help me make bills and not be homeless! i am trying so hard and i'm still applying for jobs every day, but until i formally receive employment, we are dead broke.
Please. Anything you can spare helps...

#TIL `Cache-Control: no-cache` doesn't mean "no caching".

@chrism @lupyuen While I agree that a software engineering team needs to have some people who understand all parts of the systems they maintain, I doubt it's *just* lack of confidence. Management may not be giving their engineers time and resources to learn their COBOL systems, even if those engineers know they should learn them.
(I would also push back on COBOL being one of the easiest to learn. Against the landscape of modern programming languages, COBOL is a real weirdo: full of cruft, bizarre conventions, and surprising edge cases.)
@Kovaelin IDK why people get eclipse first. possibly a combo of the fact that eclipse is free (as in beer) while IntelliJ wants a license fee + institutional gravity
@Kovaelin it's pretty good for java development and there are genuinely good eclipse bindings: the transition was really painless.
