dumping pseudorandom bytes into a BMP file yields decidedly non-random results in most of the resulting image

I'm flatting my comic pages and Krita 'Colorize Mask' is really 🤯
Here are two screenshots: the input with lineart scribbled with color indicators and then the output rendering. This feature saves me hours!
(Note: I use random colors to split areas −WIP−).

I would like to think cryptocurrency isn't a dumb fad, but then I see shit like "cryptokitties" unironically included in a description of why non-fungible tokens have value, and I'm taken right back to thinking it's a fad.

Like, how could this:
cryptokitties.co/kitty/896775
be worth serious money?

@clacke @syntacticsugarglider @chjara Forget the 90's: I had a colleague using Bash to basically do what Docker Compose does before Docker compose existed. It was godawful, but I learned some fairly robust hacks (contradiction?) for process control in Bash from that.

Thanks Medium for blocking all my educational articles ... Time to move out anyway 😉

Is there a way to give my users a link to donate and allow them to track that their money is being used properly?

Thank you 🐘

@thewismit well, been there on mgmt having overly aggressive timelines for technical resources. where I work, pay is actually really good.

@thewismit been there. are you in a large company? If you are, and the dysfunction isn't at the top, you may be able to move around and find better. Or you can become management.

@freemo you know, you're probably right...she hasn't been my supervisor for all that long though, (I think we saw each other once in person, and we don't really even do video calls{ so I'm cautious about that kind-of thing until we get to know each other better..

Got asked "how happy are you" in my performance review today. (I'm doing well, apparently, so it was about retention.) I answered honestly, and got a follow-up about how my experience could be better. How can you *actually* be honest about that? Like, "I'd like to disregard all business goals, work only on my own projects, work only when I want, and I would like my pay to continue to grow, but faster." Even if that's true, you don't *say* that to your supervisor.

Ahahahahaa, this is great.

Will Smith released "chill beats to quarantine to". It's actually a great hacking album and has a nice Will Smith parody of the chilledcow-style study-meme: youtube.com/watch?v=rA56B4JyTg

@coldwave perhaps. still, I see no problem with just *noticing* and double-checking.

@coldwave Eventually you chart it, right? I imagine the exercise tracker can upload to your PC / export to a spreadsheet.

good reminder that I wasn't always competent with computers and system administration: in a journal entry, I'm confronted with the fact that I switched to full-time for my personal computers because I had accidentally overwritten my disk partition table and didn't know how to recover the partition

@lupyuen that cut-over at the end of talks was brutal. It was really a scheduling problem though. They *really* should have just added padding between sessions. You may not have to walk between sessions in a virtual conference, but it's a good time for follow-on discussions and socializing within the context of the conference. I've been annoyed at how these online conferences force you to either 1)defer all of your networking until after the conf 2)skip sessions 3)be distracted during sessions
