twitter link but worth it

@platypus got me with the slinky 🤣

@soup_reviews that's an interesting take on game design. I think Ed McMillen described something like that when taking about super meat boy in en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indie_ (may have been somewhere else though)

soulslike design tip #2344: the general difficulty and strategic challenges of an area's bosses should be telegraphed ahead of time by the enemies, encounters, and general damage output of the area itself.

@yngmar like projecting the Martian coordinates onto earth and putting geocaches related to the Perseverance mission at the reprojected Mars sample coordinates on earth? @Del_4Ri

@benjancewicz wow, a legit panopticon. I knew they actually built some, but never seen one

@lucifargundam perhaps you're assuming things about the nature of body or mind that I don't assume, or you're relying on some theory with which I'm not familiar.

@lucifargundam I understand your scenario, I guess, but I don't see your point

@lucifargundam yes! definitely one of my favorites too. just my kind of off-kilter humor

another one i liked was the Swarm episode. It has some real Octavia Butler vibes, I think what with the human adapting to a different ecosystem and the whole "there's something fundamentally maladaptive about how humans traditionally have operated"

there's always a bit of dissatisfaction with anthologies though where I want to spend more time with the little worlds each story creates. not all of them, of course: some really are structured so that the end is a good stopping point.

so, they can't hear the difference. it's just in your mind?

"Don't say I never gave you anything"/"Don't say I never did anything for you" are among the phases I most hate to hear from someone. it pretty much always means the person saying it *knows* what they've given or what they've done is insufficient but they still want to demand that you protect their image. it's just so weak

why do online stores even ask you if you want their promotions if they're just gonna send them anyway? just to piss people off? how does that make sense??

@readsteven the ending to Evangelion 2.0 comes to mind (before the post-credits sequence)
