I'm somewhat confused: your article briefly mentioned some neo-nazis, gestures towards the broader institutional threats to various groups, then recounts how caring and effective your mother's treatment is. that doesn't sound worse than what I thought about Florida. the former is well known, while the latter just demonstrates that there are good folks in the state too.

Yeah, second that. At least if I want to understand what a specific person's rating means, I like the comment. Also for that case, it helps to see how they rate things generally.
OTOH, for an aggregate...yeah I just actively thought about it and it's different for different types of books. I'm more sensitive to 2 vs 3 vs 4 for a technical book, but not so much for 4 vs 5. For a novel, setting aside dog-piling and controversy skewing things negative, I might pay attention if it's getting 1 or 2, but 3-5 is all in the noise.

Saturn, when viewed in the near-infrared methane absorption band, appears blue. You're able to peer through the upper hazes into the clouds below and the bands and belts start to take shape. It's still false color, but almost looks like a whole new planet.

I kinda think redwing blackbirds are actually trying to get photographed. everytime I take out my camera in the park, at least one always comes near enough for a great close up shot
