@moshtodon how about because it's hard to get all of the nutrients you need consistently when you didn't grow up vegan.
Also, even when you start a vegan diet and have all the bases covered as far as nutrition, prevailing food cultures around a lot of people presuppose that people eat meat, let alone the other animal products non-vegans mostly don't even think about as being prohibited for vegans (e.g., honey, gelatin). Like, I'm not even vegan, I'm pescetarian, but I can't eat most of the meals my mother would make for us. Giving that kind of thing up isn't something everyone is going to be square with.
I don't understand how there was ever any negotiation to be had between the Afghan government and the Taliban. The Taliban doesn't consider the government of #Afghanistan to be legitimate. You can't debate with someone about how you exist together when they don't believe you should exist in the first place. What did I misunderstand?
I know it was posted a year ago, but made be laugh.

@izaya why not before? because of DRM or just no device good for reading on?

I hadn't heard about Leavitt before, but this was a really great contribution.

Cool page. I didn't realize how recently text teletypes were (are?) still in use. VRS isn't something I even knew existed.
The floor routine in gymnastics is so weird. Like, there's this dancy element which is like "okay..." and then they do these gravity defying flips. Why not just do the tumbling?

@soup_reviews you mean the kind that are meant to be reused or the kind that gets caught in trees?
@soup_reviews but actually?
#VLC #protip: have a series of videos with subtitles, but the default subtitle track played by VLC isn't the one you want? You can find how VLC has labeled the track under "Tools" > "Codec Information" from the main menu bar, but here it's called a stream. Then, you can set the track to use in Advanced Settings under "Input / Codecs". The option to use is "Subtitle Track ID" (not "Subtitle Track"): just input the number of your desired track from the "Codec Information" list.
(I don't know why VLC has inconsistent naming for these things. It's even named differently between the GUI labels and the mouse-over text.)
Unsurprisingly someone already made this Fate x Love Live x Monty Python triple crossover meme... #fate #fateseries #lovelive #montypython #anime
