Funny. I can imagine visually and spatially, but it's nothing like what I take in through my eyes.
Also, my memories aren't very sequential - maybe only in short stretches: it's more like I remember certain things that happened as sketches and facts, and some relationships between those things, including causal relationships which are (or should be!) ordered in time. It's *definitely* not like a movie reel.
This started as a question but I've realized it is actually more of an ... #introduction
I'm locked into my current job for the next ten years approximately it has an interesting mix of System Admin (Mostly windows with some security aspects), Help Desk, and Networking.
With that being said I'm interested in contributing to #opensource and #foss projects as I tend to use them where I can.
Also, I'm hoping that this could help to build somewhat of a portfolio to align with my long term goal to prepare towards a #softwaredevelopment, #sysadmin, or #cybersecurity job in the future.
My hobbies usually bounce around the tech realm as I like to tinker and learn new things. If anyone has any recommendations on how to best focus my efforts in regards to helping with projects I'm all ears. I'm especially interested to know what languages/contribution aspects the masses would recommend. Currently I have only dabbled on Python and limited Powershell and Bash scripting but I'm open to learning new languages (Programming and actual).
Random fact/caveat if you reply back in another language I'll try to use a translator but I apologize in advance if something gets lost in translation. One of the few things we have going for us in 2020 is that language can be less of a barrier with tech!

There is now a Mastodon instance for publishing scientists: FediScience.
Everyone is welcome from PhD student to professor, as well as researchers from outside of academia. You are welcome to stay afterwards, but it is also easy to change to another server.
There will be a lot of science talk on this server, but there is no need to only talk science

Boosts are appreciated to let others know about this new instance.
Why does Tracy have to be such a dum-dum? Like, she freaks out when she sees her doppelganger in Westworld: you just saw it not an hour ago... #oldmovies #movies #futureworld

Bonjour Mastodon !
accessibility, ableism
Inaccessibility isn't just a matter of discrimination, though discrimination underlies and defines these choices. Inaccessibility in itself disables people, more seriously and in more situations with more detriment than dictated by their medical conditions. People who can get around fine on their own on wheelchairs are disabled by the lack of ramps and elevators where they are affordable and feasible. People who'd be perfectly functional with dimmer lighting and less noise are made to suffer in spaces made artificially bright and noisy. People who can navigate websites with screen readers are excluded when websites are made opaque to screen readers. The inconveniences and exclusions are imposed by choice, not dictated by immutable physical reality.
