@PawelK @yukiame The most difficult part would be getting the replacement to pass regulations. The rest of the system would be rather easy to implement.
Something like a Throttle Body Fuel Injection system would be easy to retrofit to older vehicles. There's the Holly EFI system that does this for around $5,000.

@PawelK @yukiame Perhaps it could be but auto makers have already claimed it as intellectual property and implemented DRM. That sounds like a job for a complete replacement to me.

@PawelK @yukiame There are a few open source and open hardware projects that could be used on older vehicles. The newer modules found in vehicles are interconnected and require tens of thousands of dollars in equipment to change keys or properly read the data codes.

@PawelK @yukiame It had good fuel economy too. I do have training as an Automotive Technician and I've worked on heavy equipment for most of my life. The electronics used on board modern vehicles are what I despise most. I would be very open to replacing the black boxes with something open source and open hardware.

@a_breakin_glass @tk Fuel cells are still not feasible for nearly any application on earth. The only fuel cell that I know of that worked well was a hydrogen fuel cell that NASA used in space.

@PawelK @yukiame Ah yes, the venerable Yugo. They were popular in the US for a period of time.

@tk A rotary engine can be used to save space and weight. They can be pretty efficient as long as the seals are in good condition.

@tk Any purely electric vehicle will have a very limited range. The use of highly efficient internal combustion engines as generators makes it feasible. The efficiency would be high because it would be optimized to only run at the optimal output.

@tk Motorcycles are better suited for being electric vehicles. They're just going to need a different name as there is no cycle involved.

Listening to Voodoo Ray always ignites something inside me.

@Seedsaver As a Georgia born and raised man, fuck Kemp. When Law Enforcement hates your ass as a Republican and the whole damn state turns Democratic, your days are numbered you stupid peice of shit. Stacey Abrams should have won.

@JoshuaACasey @session @keybase I have HFA and I've noticed more and more opposition from the woke groups. Billy C. did a helluva lot for us. It would be nice to shut down oppression with an ADA badge. IE, people like us know what true oppression is like and we deserve the rights given by Federal Laws.

@valleyforge Long time user of Debian here. I like Manjaro or Gentoo over Arch. I have to admit that Arch has gained ground with the number of ports over the years. If it doesn't break on updates then it's a solid performer. :ablobcatbongo:
