Seasonal reminder: Alcohol is a completely legal drug that destroys lives, relationships and families. Don't make it hard for people who are trying to stay sober to enjoy festivities and functions.

This Thursday, 12/22 10am Pacific we’re welcoming @anu1905 to the livestream! We’re going to talk electronics, craft, activism, and crochet a resistor pincushion (a good place for all those misc thru-hole resistors on your desk!) Join us! There’s a materials list in the YouTube description if you’d like to crochet along with us, good for beginners!

@makegeneve I found the project and they were in there!
UPDATE: I remembered which project I bought them for and checked that container and: SUCCESS!
@nrcha Which bench in my house it's on isn't on their website...
@LitMoose @_mbanana @michaellammer you're very kind!
@makegeneve they should be in their packaging awaiting a project.
@LitMoose That seems more of a Lowe's/Home Depot type build.
Any particular animal in mind?

Happy Hanukkah
Wishing everyone who celebrates a joyous and safe holiday season.
Somewhere in my house are the two RP2040 microcontrollers but I cannot find them...
I was very kindly given a $50 Amazon card and I thought I might buy another project to build on a livestream and share this unexpected gift with y'all.
With that said; what would you want to see me build? We can go over the $50 if it's interesting enough/enough folks want to see it.
@joeycastillo I'm excited to build mine; I am planning to shoot a video or do a livestream for it.

The highlights are out from our livestream with Nancy Otero of Kitco Learning! It was awesome to hear her story, talk about approachable engineering education, and play with some very interesting cardboard mechanical linkages. Check it out, full playlist here:

I'm finally getting around to converting my six year old, 250 #RGB #LED tree to #Pixelblaze!
I already had it fully pixel mapped in 3D for use with #FastLED, so it was super easy.
More info on the tree build: https://www.evilgeniuslabs.org/tree-v2

The best thing about this latest Mark Rober video is that if you know what to look for, you'll see that it matches up with everything I've tried to tell y'all about San Francisco crime:
* SF is the car break-in capital of the USA
* Most car break-ins are not done by Black people
* Most car break-ins are not done by homeless people
* Police are not designed to help you with these car break-ins. Police are designed to abuse Black people.

The first black child ever allowed to attend a white school is only 68 years old now.
White parents pulled their children from school. White teachers refused to teach her.
Ruby Bridges now works as an activist & public speaker
This wasn’t a million years ago. /1

If Mastodon diehards want this to be The Next Place after Twitter, the move is to bend over backwards to listen to disabled and Black community about what they do and don't need in social media space.
Even if it's challenging.
Even if it makes you uncomfortable.
These are power user communities, whether folks like it or not.

So I understand that the bird site has started blocking links to common/known Mastodon instances, and that doesn't seem like free speech to me. So... I did a thing.
If you go to https://spacekaren.sucks it is now a URL shortener that blocks the twitter user agent. That means you can share that link that will redirect to your Mastodon account without the pouty baby stopping you. If you find this helpful can you boost so others can find it? #TwitterMigration #Mastodon #Musk #introduction
