I think a lot of the YOLO crowd erroneously believes death and hospitalization from the initial acute symptoms of COVID infection are all that's at stake. It's true YOLO, but it's no guarantee you'll have a quick death, and a tsunami of evidence indicates it's much more likely you'll slowly ruin organ after organ before eventually expiring, exhausted, defeated, and alone as your YOLO friends leave you for funner people to be around.
