Netanyahu has a track record of bad stuff. Over the decades, since the 80s, Hamas and some other groups have used terrorist methods that allowed the more extreme sides of Israel politics to gain power and the result is Gaza turned into a pressure cooker. But this week's events, no matter the dark and sordid history, cost 700 Israelis and 500 Palestinians their lives. And more evil will follow.

Because this time seems different from all the terrible events of the past. The atrocity committed when Hamas massacred the festival attendees is never going to be forgotten.
