The Phodopus roborovskii or Roborovski Hamster, also known as The Dwarf or Desert Hamster, is native to Northwest and Southern China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Tuva. Fun fact: they are named in honor of Russian artist, army officer, and explorer, Lieutenant Vsevolod Ivanovich Roborovsky. They are smallest hamsters on Earth, reaching lengths of just 4.5 to 5 centimetres or 1.8 to 2.0 inches and weigh 20 to 25 grams or 0.71 to 0.88 ounces!
