According to Wiki, Eastmancolor was early 1950s. The linked short was ~1936-37. AFAICT, when Paramount sold of it's cartoons to U.M. & M./NTA in the 50s, they created 16mm Eastmancolor prints for television. These prints had to have a _further_ amplified red to be compatible with dodgy B&W equipment at the time.
