Is it just me or is Fuckerberg starting to look more like Data each year?

@BeAware so... Nitter shut down, time to edit your post from two days ago 😆

All good proper girls should take a page out of this thread and run with it.

Anyway, I'm experimenting with identifying my limiting beliefs and thinking of ways to gently challenge them. 6/6

Yeah, like how good Christian girls behave like proper Christian girls, demure, charming, husband-bait and if you're a girl who doesn't, there's something wrong with your head, or you're evil.

So, you can label yourself, but sometimes labels come with a lot of baggage. Probably there just isn’t a word and that label was the closest word t...

It's kinda like your comfort zone. You're super comfy. It's so great, you've got it all figured out. And you stay there where's all cozy. That too is fine. That is probably a level of 'knowing oneself'.

I'm not saying abandon your cozy zone, no way. It's just sometimes, after a while, you might get frustrated with your cage you kinda built for yourself out of your beliefs and I think this can lead to depression and apathy.

Here's why girls start out in elementary school good at math and basic science but by high school get crammed into "home economics" shit. Fuck that.

I'm not saying all limiting beliefs are bad, some are of course necessary. I know I can't just flap my arms and start flying around the room. I could try but it's not going to work. lol. Or other types of 'wishing makes it so' kinda nonsense.

I mean things more like stereotypes about yourself. I am *this thing* therefore I'm not even going to try *that thing* because of entrenched reinforcement learning that established that always works out bad for me. And maybe that's perfectly valid.

I'm quote-boosting this thread because as early as junior high school I've always been like, if somebody told me I couldn't do something because I was a girl, I'd be all "Oh yeah? Watch me!"

From this I developed the mantra that nobody could tell me what my limits are except me. Never let anyone else set your limits for you. Ever.

Do you ever think about your 'limiting beliefs'? I'm not talking about conventional beliefs, but personal beliefs about yourself that limit you? Li...

The concerning aspect about the responses to my recent edgy polls is that apparently a lot of you think that the State should be responsible for enforcing morality.

Hungary, 1970. The wonderful Hungarian writer, Magda Szabó, author of some of greatest novels of post WWII-Hungary, such as Abigail, Katalin Street, Iza's Ballad, and perhaps her most well-known work, The Door. The New Yorker described the latter work as "a bone-shaking book". These are all available in excellent English translations, especially any by Len Rix.

You know Apple. When I’m listening to an audiobook on my phone I DON’T want my Air Pods to automatically switch over to my laptop so I can hear the sound of an incoming message.

Yes, I realize this is the least obnoxious thing I can bring up about Apple today.

When people ask me how coding works, this is what I tell them:
