I'm eating & drinking in a parklet in a dense bar-filled neighborhood with my pup and some dudebro in a Tesla just went by in self-driving mode - totally talking on a video call with expansive gesturing. I did not consent to this on my streets. What if the car got spooked by a shadow? He could easily end up going through a building - not even noticing people on sidewalks and parklets. It's pretty basic tech to say "no self-driving mode in town". Why should we let one exist without the other?
