Among Americans 50+, right-wing radicalization generally happens because of rising disaffection at society for disbelief in Christian fundamentalism.

Among younger people, it's predominately men who can't get a date becoming angry at women having rights.

Definitely many other reasons, but these are the plurality ones in the age groups in my opinion.

But.

1. Dark humor is a thing for a reason. A lot of people use it as a coping mechanism. I mean, my dad was a mortician, and it's a known fact that morticians as a group are hilariously funny.

2. It’s mitigated a bit by how it came about. Like hunting a lion, or climbing Mt. Everest, or hiking through Death Valley, or swimming with hippos: well, yeah, sometimes it's gonna end badly.
