From Brooklyn Museum’s “Climate in Crisis: Environmental Change in the Indigenous Americas” exhibition

“To the Aztec, the jaguar symbolized power, courage, and a warlike attitude. Some of the highest-ranking warriors were called jaguar warriors, and rulers associated themselves with Tezcatlipoca, a deity who sometimes assumed the guise of this powerful predator.”

Look, you can scroll here in the Fedi just as much as you want to. 6 bajillion posts if you wanna. You can have a verified sticker in your name or not (they don't mean anything here).

But, really, just say hi to some friends, post photos of your cat/dog/lizard/rock/guitar, favorite and boost all the things that strike your fancy, then go get a good meal with friends and watch a sunset.

Life's better here.
But there's more to life than here. Don't forget that.

Scientists are a bit unsure how a mosquito can bite the tough hide of a saltwater crocodile. https://t.co/Vbu2QUPkGV

Happy Canada Day, everyone! Drinking a Moosehead; founded appropriately in 1867 the year of the British North America Act, and kind of tastes like moose piss but the proletariat in me loves it.

social media is molting.

Once again, since Twitter is still dying...

Hello! I'm Hugo, a journalist from Montreal. I work at Radio-Canada, but I'm also the chief editor of Pieuvre.ca, a web media I started about 15 years ago.

I post about #news, #media, #journalism, #politics, #tech, #videogames, #science, #space, and even sandwiches and dragons (sometimes).

Looking forward to connect!
