You know why nostalgia in PC games is such a powerful thing? Because when something was made, you know it will never happen again. And that’s not something you can say about a whole lot of art.

Let’s take music. Anyone can take some 70s arena rock band and make a pretty period accurate version of it. It’s pretty damn easy. Greta Van Fleet has pretty much made a career out of this.

But few people make vintage PCs anymore. CRTs are hard to find. Period specific hardware is getting rarer and rarer.

And more than that, there’s just something about old PC games that are hard to replicate. They had a certain charm.

I keep thinking back to the lockdowns of 2020.
In a couple of weeks of slowing down, many environmental indicators turned around and started improving.

Remember back when Associated Press released their new style book and it made clear not to deadname unless it was crucial to understanding the story?

They broke it themselves already in the caption to the header photo of this story, deadnaming Adria Jawort. She was the woman who was going to speak at the Butte-Silver Bow Public Library before the city attorney had the event cancelled.

Why would you do this, AP?

I want to use this space to continue to advocate for the Long COVID community.

So to those in med-mastodon… believe your patient. They are more likely faking being well, than faking being sick.

Don’t be a gatekeeper. Know your limitations and pass the patient on to someone else who may be able to help.

Many patients with chronic conditions know their disease better than we do. Allow them to lead the narrative.

Thinking of posting about places and things in Southeast Asia (mostly cultural or historical) with little stories about them that I never really got to share. Truth is, for a while now, there hasn't been much interest in my circle about my SEA-related kwentos. But you guys seems to be interested, so maybe this would be a good place for this. 😊 #TootSEA
