Protect Native Children at the State Level!

In an enormous victory for tribal children, families, and sovereignty, the #SupremeCourt has rendered a decision fully preserving the Indian Child Welfare Act (#ICWA)! Still, let's tell our representatives to codify ICWA’s protections at the state level. Never again should any Native child anywhere be in danger of removal from their family and culture.

90,000 km² (9 million hectares) already burned in this year's Canadian wildfire season, breaking the 1989 record for the entire season. Hundreds of fires still burning as the hottest part of summer arrives.

For comparison: 90,000 km² is the area of countries like Portugal and Hungary.

#Gardening tip.

If you choose to have a living pathways between your garden beds, make them the size of a lawnmower. Those will be easier to maintain.

I made the mistake to make them shorter and it is a nightmare to look after.

Shortly before the #Monarch emerges the top of the chrysalis opens a pleat like an accordion. It can take up to 1hr for the monarch to emerge after that. From the time I noticed the change to when it started to come out it was only about a 15 minute wait.

I had nine #MonarchButterflies come out today!
Running total:
Female - 11
Male - 3
Chrysalis - 12

TIL that honey never spoils. Archaeologists have found pots of honey in ancient Egyptian tombs that are over 3000 years old and still perfectly edible.

Things can change overnight.
Yesterday the Monarch caterpillar was hanging in its J-shape, today it is a chrysalis.
Another 1-2 weeks and the 🦋 will emerge.

Shortcomings in law enforcement and protection mean most wildlife crimes in Europe go unpunished or undetected, putting endangered European species at further risk.

These are the findings of a new WWF report which provides the most comprehensive picture to date on the state of wildlife crime in Europe.

Orks Plan Mariupol Escape!

The invaders have drafted a plan to escape from temporarily occupied Mariupol.

"Our underground learned that the occupation administration in Mariupol had developed a plan for 'evacuation' from the city.

These plans provide for the transportation of collaborators, documentation, and the most valuable property to Russia. Cargo operations are being accelerated in the Mariupol port, particularly grain export operations."
