Le sigh. Apparently Google's "Advanced Protection" mode conveniently rewrites all the links in your emails (even over IMAP) to use a proxy link through google.com.

The side effect of this is that if you rely on GPG/PGP signatures in any emails with links in them, signature verification fails because they change the content of the message itself.

There's no way to disable this other than disabling "Advanced Protection" on your account 😡😡😡
