What really irks me about this is…this is the only brand I’ve found that wasn’t built around Wifi. Govee is another good brand with solid support and updates, but they’re all Wifi. I don’t want to increase my connected attack footprint over this.

Buying Hue hardware, I’m clearly willing to spend a bit extra for solid non-Wifi connectivity and product support. I was surprised to see Honeywell with a Z-Wave thermostat, and I jumped on it when Ecobee screwed with that.

I have Philips Hue hardware. The cloud connectivity has always been optional. I’ve never used it. All it used the internet for was updates.

This is changing soon. An account will be required with a privacy policy requiring information harvesting.

Philips Hue hardware uses Zigbee. Looks like I’m moving all my Hue hardware from the Hue hub to my Hubitat Elevation.

I’ll have to rework some automations in HomeAssistant.

Bookmarking as a useful resource regarding Nazi persecution of trans people. A summary document, but includes a number of useful source links.

"The court took expert statements from historians before issuing an opinion that essentially acknowledges that trans people were victimized by the Nazi regime.

This is an important case. It was the first time a court acknowledged the possibility that trans people were persecuted in Nazi Germany. It was followed a few months later by the Bundestag, Germany’s parliament, formally releasing a statement recognizing trans and cisgender queer people as victims of fascism."

The Little One has requested their own library card and is super excited to have their first ever card for anything.

Very cute "they grow up so fast" moment in the whare.
On our way to the library to pick up their card (and some books).

Cars continue to get more expensive, bigger cars are even more expensive. They estimated per mile costs at 66 cents per mile for a small sedan, to 106 cents per mile for a larger pickup.

The average new car is about $12,000/year.

I don't see the problem.

Sooo, is it just, not possible at all to do Braille with Bluetooth on Windows? Kuz um, I can't get it to work with either of my displays.

Suspending proper dress code in the #USSenate is obviously bolsh-creep portending the end of proper society and I can state categorically that the ONLY clothing any US Senator should ever be seen in public wearing is specifically and explicitly the Cold Bernie ensemble.
