Far-right social media is particularly ugly right about now. Their takes on the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict largely fall into three camps:

1. Hamas is the vanguard of nationalist self-determination, and we owe them our uncompromising support
- Neo-Nazis in the US, Scandinavia, Russia, New Zealand
- Some French identitarians

2. The barbarity of the Palestinians is just another example of the Islamic terrorism that's coming for your children
- people whose main orientation was anti-Islam in the first place (Tommy Robinson, Paul Golding of Britain First, PEGIDA)

3. Let them kill each other
- Honestly not that many people, and pretty much no organized groups; mostly just random strays here and there

And then there are the freelance conspiracy theorists, who seem to feel they have to say something -- anything -- just to stay in the game, but don't want to risk committing too strongly to any particular side just yet. They're mostly babbling about the secret role played by Mossad, Iran, or the US, along with a fair bit of millenarian/"end times" language.

None of this is all that surprising, but the intensity of the language in the first two camps -- and especially the first one -- is particularly harsh right now: the ostentatious indifference to loss of life, lots of talk of "finally taking action", and casual use of eliminationist rhetoric. Ugly stuff.

In investigations across the country, the lung float test has emerged as a barometer of sorts to help determine if a mother suffered a #stillbirth or if she murdered her baby who was born alive. The test has been used in at least 11 cases where women were charged criminally since 2013...Black, brown and poor women disproportionately face #pregnancy-related prosecutions. Black women also are more than 2X as likely to have a stillbirth as white women.
