We've seen huge numbers of workers going out on strike (more this year than in the last 40 years), holding the line, & WINNING BIG—sticking together and fighting for each other. Show your support and sign the pledge to support strikers and HOLD THE LINE.

This is not good. Maybe we shouldn’t have pretended the pandemic is over.

The continued decline of Twitter/ X.

"Musk ditched this utility as he’s changed its main news feed algorithm; these days it privileges ChatGPT influencers, edgelords, and his business and culture-war confidants"

As rumors of possibly dead or dying world leaders go, I doubt the stories of Putin having a heart attack and leaving the mortal stage are true.

You have to have a heart to have a heart attack. Putin is safe.

Calling your congresspeople is easy, and not scary at all. A staffer will pick up the phone, and you just tell them you want to leave a comment. They will write down what you say. It's as easy as that.

You can write an email if that feels easier, but elected officials put much more weight on phone calls from their constituents. Ultimately it's a numbers game. They are tracking how many pro- and con- phone calls they get. They need to hear from you. Silence is interpreted as consent. #CeaseFire

This semester at #LincolnUniversityNZ German student, Bent Rech, has analysed starling counts from my bike route between Ōtautahi-Christchurch & Lincoln.

Starlings are declining in European rural landscapes. Are they in NZ?

No. Starlings have been stable in rural Canterbury over the past decade, averaging 8.45 birds per square km.

That's the low end of densities we've found for Europe, so rural Canterbury farmland is mediocre starling habitat.

Biden has obviously successfully censored TikTok because there’s basically no videos about what’s going on in the hospitals or anywhere else in Palestine anymore. Not in the last day or so. He has blood on his hands. He well knows it. We can never forgive him for this genocide.

Deep Purple M&Ms

When the Deep Purple M&M's falls
Over sleepy garden walls
And the stars begin to twinkle in the night
In the mist of a Memory
You wander back to me
Shouting "Trick or Treat"
and making me cry at the sight.
