I’ve completed the first phase of sorting components that was all mixed up in a plastic tub. Almost all the electrolytic caps are now in drawers. Resistors are the biggest pain: they are sorted into piles by multiplier: 1, 10, 100, 1000, and… everything else. Next I will sort each pile by their actual value and put them away in my resistors book.

It took me a beat to realize that the five-band resistors go in the pile with four-band resistors of a different color. #electronics

Hey all, what's the site that acts as an anonymous front end for YouTube? It strips out the tracking and ads, and I saw/shared a post about it a while back, but can't seem to find it. I think it started with a "p" (not PeerTube though).

Actual conditions (on 10m voice): Open to Japan, Chile, Cuba. Havana was coming in +20 around 3pm. Talked to someone in Oklahoma. My son talked to someone in Japan.

My son (newer): "Oh, conditions are terrible, QRZ says it's poor."

Me: "Wait, but you just talked to Japan on sideband on an end fed wire!!! That's not poor conditions!!!"
