I spent a long time early in the pandemic learning about COVID, for a risk modeling software we developed at CERN.

But now I'm lost, struggling to understand what is going on and how we got here. Some scenarios:

1) It's not COVID, everyone has some else, except the positive tests.
Plausible, nobody I know, fortunately has been more than mildly ill. There's an infinity of other bugs and viruses out there.

2) COVID has evolved not to show up on antigen or PCR tests.
Unlikely at least for...
