"Give Me One Reason" - Tracy Chapman

Give me one reason to stay here
And I'll turn right back around
Give me one reason to stay here
And I'll turn right back around
Said I don't want to leave you lonely
You got to make me change my mind

American Tune (Paul Simon)

I don't know a soul who's not been battered
I don't have a friend who feels at ease
I don't know a dream that's not been shattered
Or driven to its knees
Oh, but it's alright, it's alright
For we lived so well so long
Still, when I think of the road we're traveling on
I wonder what's gone wrong
I wonder what’s gone wrong

Don't you understand what I'm
Tryin' to say?
Don't you feel the fears that I'm
Feelin' today?

If the button is pushed there's
No runnin' away--
There'll be no one to save
With the world in a grave

Take a look around you, boy--
It's bound to scare you, boy
And you
Tell me over and over and over again my friend--
You don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction.

(Too bad the singer turned out to be a right wing radical in the end)

An eye for an eye
A tooth for a tooth
Vote for me and
I'll set you free!

Rap on, brother, rap on.
Well, the only person talkin' 'bout
Love thy brother is the preacher.

And it seems
Nobody's interested in learnin'
But the teacher.

Segregation, determination
Demonstration integration
Aggravation, humiliation
Obligation to our nation--

Ball of Confusion
That's what the world is today.

Picket lines
Picket signs
Punish me
With brutality
Talk to me
So you can see
What's going on--
What's going on.
I'll tell you what's going on.

The Guinness World Record for the tallest man in recorded history is held by Robert Wadlow. He measured 8 feet 11 inches (2.72 meters) tall at the time of his death in 1940.

Can we develop a whole kind of open-source alt-economy, wherein anyone might be able to set themselves up as a craftworker and earn a decent living? It seems to me like the maker movement isn't far from being able to.

Can we develop a kind of bottom-up, collaborative approach to politics, leveraging trust and mutuality, able to develop practical solutions to real problems, able to both work with as well as independent of existing institutions?
