Given how much of my life is spent in fairly close proximity to UPS (uninterruptible power supply) systems and electric conditioning equipment, I knew that, statistically, this was probably going to happen one day.

But today is the first time I've seen a UPS catch fire. Twenty month-old Back-UPS unit from APC.

And, of course, it did it in a recording studio, during a session, and a particularly good take.
