Can't decide between the sweaty potato fries or the tors.

Both my Samsung phone and my Samsung TV are insisting that I must 'agree' to their new terms.

Firstly, if I 'must' do it, then it's not an 'agreement'. There is an 'accept' button, but no 'decline'.

Secondly, I bought them outright. I own them. You can't change the terms after the transaction, surely?

Thirdly, what are they going to do if I don't agree? Brick the devices? Will they take them back and provide a full refund?

I mean I haven't read the terms but there's a principle at stake.

A law requiring AI generated images and videos to have a watermark won’t be effective in stopping bad actors as people will just use Open Source tools even if all the corporate ones add these.

I find the idea of cameras cryptographically signing photos & videos more tractable.

I’d argue images saying “This is a real picture” will help fight disinformation better than saying “This is an AI generated picture” since not all AI generated ones will indicate that they are.
