In the UK? You, your family, your friends, your colleagues : You are all registered to vote and have valid Voter ID, Right? If you haven't, do it now. Or you wont be able to help get rid of the Tories.

#GTTO. This year.

If I understand correctly, these sort of scuba masks will become "see-thru" if there is a crash of the video.

But… are they polarized? Is it possible to see car displays when they are in "see-thru" mode?

Years ago an airplane pilot with a glass cockpit had to land against the sunset. He wore his Polaroid glasses… and all the displays became black for him.
Just for luck an accident was avoided.

If you have a glass dash on your car, did you try to see it with Polaroids?

PBS: In the year since a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Turkey and Syria, killing more than 59,000 people, the situation in Syria has only become more grim for those who survived. An initial outpouring of assistance from the outside world quickly subsided as international attention turned to disasters elsewhere.#news #PBS #headline https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/a-year-after-deadly-earthquake-conflicts-and-shrinking-aid-compound-misery-for-syrians

🇷🇺 🇺🇦 A story about the Ukrainian children taken to Russia for “re-education” (which forms basis of indictment of Putin for war crimes), the humiliating treatment many faced there, and the demands to bring them back as soon as possible.

A Bunch of Good Books - Teri Kanefield

"It was a bit unnerving how openly Miller describes how he and his friends lied and stoked racial resentment. I’ll go further than that. For someone who watched for decades as Republican leaders riled a bloodthirsty racist mob, it was disturbing. You know those moments when Shakespeare’s Richard III basically tells the audience, “Now watch me do evil!” Reading the first half of Miller’s book was like that.

Miller jumped ship when Trump won the nomination in 2016. He voted for Hillary Clinton, worked hard to sink both Trump’s presidential campaigns, and has been an outspoken critic of what the Republican Party has become." https://terikanefield.com/a-bunch-of-good-books/

02/2/24-“There were 42,200 measles cases across more than 40 European countries last year, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced this week — a more than 40-fold increase from 2022, which saw fewer than 1,000 cases. In December, the organization said there had been more than 20,000 hospitalizations and at least five deaths in the European region.” - https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/measles-has-exploded-in-europe-clinicians-say-it-s-only-a-matter-of-time-before-outbreaks-hit-canada-1.7102005

Funniest thing I’ve seen in a while.

I was a huge #Amiga fanboy from 1986 to 1993, and I enjoyed reading this: https://www.datagubbe.se/afb/ even though there's really nothing new you can say about the why and how of CBM's demise.

The Amiga was a great machine for that very small window in time when nobody really knew what a "home computer" was supposed do or be. Commodore gave us curious kids great hardware to figure that out for ourselves. Thanks, Jack Tramiel, Jay Miner, Dave Haynie and the rest of you wizards.😢

#povertyschool I finally got the numbers: many students at the school I volunteer mentor for, work 40 hours a week during the school year. They need to to support family. They say they are preparing for college. How on gods green earth can they take courses to prepare for college while working 40 hours at Walmart? In NM they need 2.5 GPA - I could not have done it myself.
