Taxing the rich so the city will have more resources is. https://www.cityandstateny.com/policy/2024/01/whole-world-literally-looking-us-how-new-york-city-using-migrant-crisis-catalyst-change/393815/

I went to a memorial concert for the composer Scott Johnson this evening. I didn't know him but his sister-in-law is a really good friend of mine, so I went to support her and her wife.

Here's one of his pieces from tonight that I really liked.

Continuing our 19 days of #PHANGS galaxies, we have the barred spiral galaxy NCG 1385, as seen by #Hubble and #JWST.

NCG 1385 is notable for its asymmetry — it has a bar structure surrounding its core, but its spiral arms are all on the left side of the image. It is known as a flocculent spiral, a galaxy with a large number of chaotic fragmented arms.

The galaxy is about 56 million light years (17 Mpc) away.
