Here I was just going to 'hobby project' a new mastodon client to sharpen up on flutter, but now I've bought a domain and documented out new potential features with a working prototype...

A reminder for anyone new to mastodon who might not be happy with some of the racist and bad actors out there on other servers... Just import the fediblock list to your personal blocks and you will be safe from the vast majority of bad actors.
I took all the domains from https://fediblock.neocities.org/ block list and put it in a csv file that can be imported so you can block all hateful ...

For context, this is one of my favorite climate graphs, showing 800,000 years of atmospheric CO2, including the massive run-up over the past century. We're now around 420 parts per million (ppm), more than anytime in 800,000 years (actually more than anytime in the past 5 million years) and completely outside the natural ups and downs in the record. This is the driver of the current #climate crisis.

Hey, so, we've hit 1,028,362 monthly active users across the network today. 1,124 new Mastodon servers since Oct 27, and 489,003 new users. That's pretty cool.

Playing around with a threaded replies view similar to reddit for this hacked up mastadon client.
Personally I think it's a better way to consume conversational content.
I'm really starting to like some of the ideas I have for it.

Hacked together a super basic Mastadon client in flutter that is hitting the public feed.
Names/Colors are far from final, but was a lot easier than I thought.
Handling attachments and html content was a breeze.

It’s really sad for people who lost their trusted online home in #Twitter with the Mail takeover. He really shows who he is now by firing half the staff blindly, he simply doesn’t care about the human aspect.
Try to see it positive since now you have discovered a place that’s as much as fun and probably even more! We may not have the numbers but we make up for that by kindness and interaction with each other🥰♥️
