I really love working with them. It's mainly what I do when I'm not working on Pepper&Carrot.

Their yearly funding campaign (at 78% while I'm writing this) ends in less than 10 days, please help them if you can 💜 https://soutenir.framasoft.org (the page is translated)

Comrades, if you’re able, please help our unhoused neighbors in #Minneapolis. We are in a deep cold patch (air temp & windchills below 0F) w/blizzard forecast for next 2-3 days. Our soul-less smug piece of shit mayor has destroyed encampments, displacing many during this time the NWS has called life-threatening conditions. Here’s a link where you can help. 🙏🏻

Wishing a happy #Solstice to you all.

To those in the North, where the dark of the year is at its deepest, and its time celebrate the returning of the light (in a couple of hours time, as the sun won't rise til after 9am today). #WinterSolstice

And a happy #Midsummer to those in the South. Enjoy the longest light-filled day as our world tilts around its axis.

Sunrise over the North Sea taken from the end of the garden earlier this year.

This is Pierre. He teaches semiotics at the Sorbonne. I'm afraid your choice of tee shirt for his seminar may have triggered an existential crisis.

🖼️ Art | Ophelia - Constantin Emile Meunier

There are reasons why there exist more visual representations of Ophelia on the riverbank than Juliet in the tomb. Much of the pull towards Ophelia no doubt lies in the visuals presented in Queen Gertrude's speech announcing her death: her death takes place off-screen, giving artists greater license to use their imaginations (as seen in Constantin Meunier's rendition below).

It's a snowy day in Seattle, so I chose this shot for Day 20 of #ArtAdventCalendar! ❄️

I actually took this a few years ago from a park near my home, but I'm sure if I walked up there today it would be a very similar scene! The snow is really piling up out there right now.☃️

Hope everyone has a lovely day! 😊

'Guinea Pig with Wild Hair' is a pet portrait artwork that I did in soft pastels earlier in 2022. This is the first and only guinea pig I've done so far, although I have drawn hamsters before. I was intrigued by the interesting curves in this critter's long, luxuiant fur.

See this artwork in my online gallery at https://mm-anderson.pixels.com/featured/guinea-pig-with-wild-hair-mm-anderson.html or one of the other sites in my profile.

One of my favourite lichens, Xanthoria polycarpa. I often seem to find it on metal church railings, as it is here at Beetley. #lichensubscribe #lichen #fungi

PSA for for pretty much everyone, even those who aren’t new - there is another mass migration underway. Meaning lots of accounts are being created on instances all across the fediverse, and the people behind those accounts are exploring, introducing themselves, and so on. Some instances handle this load better than others.

PLEASE NOTE: while you can migrate an account to a new instance and your followers will move with you, however doing so during times like this may cause that to not work correctly.

Please be patient with instances that are have trouble keeping up. They will get it under control. We are all doing the best we can. Most all instances are funded by donations from members. If you are able, look at your instance’s /about page and consider donating.

The best career advice I have:

Be kind. To everyone.

I chose my image, Surrounded by Love to be my first post as it shows the affection in a wild horse familial band. The mare (a grullo) and her two sons from consecutive years were from the Palomino Buttes Herd in Oregon. Their band was an especially tight and loving familial band at the time. It is beautiful to see the dynamics between the horses when they are allowed to live in a natural habitat and in familial or bachelor bands. #wildhorses #mustangs
