I am on my knees, begging all who see this: Please, please, please, don't wait for government/public health or private establishments to "make you do it." Wear a good mask. Wear it properly. Wear it consistently. Stop catching & spreading Covid & RSV.

@freemo Please feel free to ignore.
Not sure if i am doing it right here, but i felt good coming on and then some fatigue, so i wanted to relate this.
Wanted to let you know that not responding is absolutely ok, since we all need a moment to rest sometimes.

The @CDCgov@twitter.com reports an additional person lost to hMPXV. We now stand at a total of 11 people dead.
IF Democrats do lose the House or Senate, guaranteeing two years of gridlock, it will represent a phenomenal waste of power.
For two years, they’ve had control of DC — the House, the Senate, and the presidency. There was so much that needed to get done and they wasted time and energy. They let Manchin and Sinema get away with murder.
And their ultimate promise to voters was “we have power now but can’t do it, so give us more power then and we will this time.” It was a weak position.

A billionaire emits a million times more greenhouse gases than the average person, according to Oxfam.
We know which ones we need to hold accountable for the climate crisis.
CDC changed its isolation guidance in January, shortening the period from 10 to 5 days, following pressure from business. At the time, many public health experts criticized the decision as political and no founded in science.
To date, no prominent member of the Biden administration who has gotten COVID has returned to work and public life after 5 days. That includes the president.
Honestly, so much of the story of this pandemic is just business getting its way at the expense of public health and human life.
Here are reports I’ve written:

Donald Trump actually said this at a recent rally:
“Together we are standing up against some of the most menacing forces, entrenched interests, and vicious opponents our people have ever seen. Despite great outside dangers, our biggest threat remains the sick, sinister, and evil people from within our country. You know who I’m talking about…you must never forget: this nation does not belong to them. It belongs to you.”
Absolutely terrifying.
A system that doesn't address the needs for climate justice and securing human rights is a system that has failed everyone – we need to keep both in mind.
Human rights and climate movements are stronger when we stand in solidarity together. Then we can also successfully push those in power to live up to significantly increased adaptation finance and immediately, drastically reduced greenhouse gas emissions. There is no climate justice without social justice and human rights.

More than 670K Americans have died from COVID since January 2021.
As much as 7.5 percent of the U.S. population is suffering from long COVID.
Every week it seems we learn more about the long-term consequences of COVID infection.
Children's hospitals are filling up with kids suffering from respiratory viruses.
And yet, the pandemic is hardly an issue this election. It's hardly talked about.
That's a testament to the power of big business in America.
In a more democratic country:
🗳️ Election day would be a holiday
🗳️ You could register to vote on election day anywhere
🗳️ You could vote early in-person or by mail anywhere
🗳️ During a pandemic, voting sites would have good ventilation or require masks and hand them out free
I am feeling much, much better and my fever broke! I am celebrating by updating vizzes and drinking chamomile tea on http://twitch.tv/iowacovid19tracker.
Not gonna lie, the Democrats have been terrible on many things, but the other choice is a party who will ban public health protections, stall all action on climate, and destroy democracy.
I know who’d I’d much rather be holding accountable in office.
Please vote, it matters a whole lot for all of us! 🗳️
🚨 P.S. New Yorkers, you need to vote because there's a chance we may have a Republican Governor. This is NOT a drill!
Glad the the CDC Director is feeling better. But most people can't afford to be out sick for 18 days!
CDC should revise its incorrect 5-day isolation guidance, and leaders should do more to stop COVID spread beyond just vaccines, as well as provide more social supports like sick pay.
