@marcelias Thanks to your team, my family voted yesterday while my college age child was home for the holiday and we were off work. No one standing in line complained about the wait times as we were simply happy to be there to vote
"Every histrionic warning, every red-faced speech in Congress, every bizarre and creepy and disgusting claim, every threat to life and limb directed at queer people, every bullshit "study" fabricated at the Heritage Foundation -- all of it has been dead wrong."

"Long-term evolution does not always lead to attenuation"
RT @sigallab@twitter.com
It's not simple because early virus was attenuated. However, by parameters we measured, it became less attenuated, showing that long-term evolution does not always lead to attenuation.
Therefore, the next major variant, if it comes, may not necessarily be as mild as Omicron.
While giving thanks and celebrating the holiday, remember it is a national day of mourning for Native Americans that marks generations of broken promises and oppression -- and deliberate genocide.
It is important to recognize that legacy as we grapple with a resurgent fascist movement.
Solidarity forever.

@freemo I've mentioned to Red's Rhetoric and Sci Man Dan... I can't watch their stuff as much as I approve of it. I get way too wound up screaming at the video, "Would these people JUST F***'IN' LOOK UP!?!?"
Wishing you all a #happythankgiving - personally giving thanks, amongst other things, for having escaped the bird’s mired nest …
Three days ago, on the other place, I wrote:
"The question of the political motivations of individual shooters is largely immaterial to questions of culpability.
Every shooting is the fault of the Republican Party, which is the party that insists on conditions that make shootings and political violence inevitable."
And another Republican-sponsored mass shooting just happened in Virginia...a *Republican* sponsored mass shooting, no matter the identity or motivation of the shooter, because it is Republicans and their vile propaganda machine who force us to live like this, who demand as a matter of collective political will that we live in a world of plentiful massacres, who oppose any attempt to remedy it—a sabotage of our shared life together I would name war.

I cannot stress strongly enough that genocides do not start with death camps. That’s where they end.
No, they start with dangerous rhetoric that whips up violence against marginalized groups.
People like Walsh, Pool, Shapiro, Carlson, Raichik, etc. absolutely know this. They are fomenting a genocide against trans and queer folks, and it is working.
