Why are so many media companies comfortable with misinforming their readers via advertisements?

@Politico@twitter.com is running extensive advertising from @binance@twitter.com, a crypto exchange, about how transparent its operations are

It's all a lie!

If the GOP is really the party of “family values,” why won't Republicans in Congress restore the expanded child tax credit?

RT @josephzeballos@twitter.com

Confirmed, per source familiar: The final omnibus package will drop the child tax credit due to staunch GOP resistance to consider a limited expansion in the lame-duck.

R&D tax provisions also dropped

It’s embarrassing watching previously banned journalists crawl back to #Twitter.

Congress has never, in all of U.S. presidential history, referred an American president to the Department of Justice for criminal investigation and prosecution - until now.

The media:

“How will criminal charges for seditious conspiracy for his coup attempt affect Donald Trump’s election bid for the presidency?”

I hate the mainstream media. I hate them for normalizing this. I hate them for the malicious way they frame things to keep the status quo.

Reminder: Section 3 of the 14th Amendment bars anyone from office who has been found to have “engaged in insurrection" against the United States.

See point 4 below.

Jan 6 Committee refers Trump to DOJ for violating:

1. Obstruction of an official proceeding;
2. Conspiracy to defraud the United States;
3. Conspiracy to make a false statement;
4. Inciting, assisting or aiding/comforting an insurrection

The J6 Committee has also referred the following to the Justice department for prosecution:

Mark Meadows
Rudy Giuliani
John Eastman
Jeffrey Clark

There is no legitimate reason to still be on Twitter. Not “resisting” not anything.

And I don't know if a single covid infection damages your immune system forever.
But it seems to damage it for a while.
And if you get reinfected with Covid before your immune system has recovered, and again and again, well, it might as well be forever then.

@therobburgessshow Can you imagine what any new CEO would need to do to get rid of all the right wingers before it would be even halfway usable again? And that said, I'm never returning to a proprietary, corporate or private owned platform again. The air is indeed out of the balloon. The difference here is extraordinary. The content and engagement head and tails superior to Twitter.

Thought experiment: Ask yourself what #FoxNews and your #Republican relatives would be saying if #Obama had refused to concede the 2016 election, called for an attack on the US Capitol by Black Lives Matter, and thousands of people of color had shown up armed like this. semafor.com/article/12/19/2022

@therobburgessshow Yep. And as a loyal Austinite, I was thinking about buying a Tesla, but no more.

If you let any story cut through all the Twitter noise today, please let it be this:

At least six local news websites across Alabama and Florida have been secretly taking payments from power companies to run stories attacking clean energy + other policies

Arbitrary suspensions aside, it is frankly outrageous that Twitter (even now - just tested it again with a bio link) labels Mastodon links as malware.

"This is not permitted by our content policy" would be one (stupid) thing to say to the user.

But falsely telling the user that a third party site is going to harm their computer is spreading misinformation and undermining trust. It's deeply, deeply wrong.

When a billionaire does something which appears evil, damaging or corrupt, please don't let your first assumptions be that he doesn't understand what he is doing, or that he is immature, or that he is incompetent. Start from the premise that that which appears evil and corrupt, is, in fact, evil and corrupt and go from there.

@therobburgessshow I'm not going back, either. I already unfollowed everybody, deleted all my tweets, and logged out.

you know what? I don’t think I’m gonna let that guy put a chip in my brain after all
