From what I’ve learned so far: different instances/servers have different rules. There are unfortunately a handful instances that are openly nazi. But most are not/ including this one we are on. You can block individuals, but you can also block an entire server(although I don’t know how yet)
Also taking initiative to shield your own posts for others depending content is encouraged as to not upset the timeline.

Holy moly. I thought this platform was supposed to be the anti nazi opponent? Within 2 hours of signing up- 4 clicks into a #- I’m confronted with an extreme vocal white supremacy tooter. A barrage of anti otherist-whites are under attack- type toots. This is just part of one example. Frankly I’m shocked.
What is the mastodon etiquette of what is/isn’t allowed? What sort of things warrent reporting? I see the report option is there, but I don’t want to faux par on my first day here.

@biologyshyology on my first hour of this tooting thing, somehow I came across you and this post. I have no idea in what context you meant to write this; but it’s pretty much wording my artistic woes. You go down a rabbit hole of obsessions in a rollercoaster with your hands in the air- produce nothing for aaaages. And then suddenly you create a little pebble (for a while this meant a cordyceps obsession)
Anyway: felt like sharing. Thanks for being part of my tentative steps here ☺️
