@Peggy Finally I understand where did all the trucks recently got those stickers "angles morts" plastered all over them. Due to COVID I did not drive around Europe too much for 2 years and this year I noticed 75% of all trucks, regardless of their country plates, having this sticker. Anyway. Good campaign there.
@zorinlynx Or maybe once there was a fire on that balcony, so they extinguished it with that same hose I mentioned earlier
@zorinlynx flushing down pigeon sh*t with a hose once a year?
@Lotte@chaos.social Well, maybe less fun, but there's also a tech way to get half-way to results here:
1. install Google Lens on your phone
2. make a picture with Lens, or upload your picture to Lens
3. explore the results
@namark Looks very bloody now 🙂
@trinsec Yes. But this one is just a simple cut one from a flower shop. As they go, a week ago it was just a bare stalk and it took it 5-6 days to fully open. But now it brightens these autumn days 🙂 .
@worldsendless Because he implemented it? 😄 @freemo
@jwildeboer Persevere! Eventually, the sun will shine on your red fedora again.
It was perhaps a foolish (yet very relatable) high ideal to hope that our human societies are smarter than in the past. Idiots, bullies and unreasonable machos will (most likely and unfortunately) always have the upper hand in the short run. But my observation is that it is the people who do the right thing(TM) who exert more influence on the humankind in the long run. They just often remain somewhat less visible.
Keep your inner spirit strong and persevere! And also thanks for what you are doing with those stats - I watched them over the year. And maybe I did not carefully read, seeing your posts daily reminded me that there's somebody out there who cares and gives a shit and that is what counts.
@zloygik 😂
@piggo The same can be said about cooled down pancakes (probably warming them up would cause some structural damage :-) ).
@piggo You'll probably find a hardcopy in the library of MFF UK, or FEL CVUT.
@piggo If you really want to go ground up (as you indicate), there is only one venerable source you need (and not only to learn LISP): **Abelson & Sussman: Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs** Here is the online textbook adnd the course website http://groups.csail.mit.edu/mac/classes/6.001/abelson-sussman-lectures/
@z428 I really appreciate your daily observations. Thanks.
Exploring, failing, backtracking, just to identify the only viable path forward. And then scarred, stumbling forward into the future. Learning.
Boring and steady. Knowing little and questioning a lot. Mostly harmless.

This is an experimental scrapbook space. A collection of stuff I want to keep in a form somewhere on the spectrum between a blog and a shoe-box full of scraps, cut-outs, quotes, links and reading notes and sometimes my own silly thoughts about them.
Perhaps it might be of marginal interest to others too, but I don't care that much.
