@onlmaps Well, well, there are some true, yet somewhat misleading figures here obviously. Those 12% in Slovakia does not mean that everybody is so "educated", it only means that people understand and can reasonably well "imitate" Czech. I am not even sure that shall be called "foreign" language, given that the two languages are intelligible. Those "12%" are certainly a different quality that the "14%" of the Netherlands which mean that people truly speak a foreign language.

Similarly for Baltics, vast majority of population speaks Russian, which technically is a foreign language, but I'd wager that in 30 years that number will change drastically.

@piggo I am sure it has nothing to do with the game, but the cover certainly looks like a screenshot from that piece. I'd be surprised if the designer was not "influenced". Interesting co-incidence.

@piggo The game came out 2014. The look and feel of that cover is quite the same. Is it that new?

@piggo indeed, weird questions and things one has in mind after seeing that. For instance:
- if the alternative weapon was artillery and they'd use 20 shells to deliver the same damage, would it be perhaps a better option? cheaper? Or more humane?
- seeing such cruelty a year ago would disturb me hugely. Now, after 11 months of watching these things and realising what it means for my own life, I don't even blink much - or perhaps wonder like you about the economy of all this. What does that even tell about me as a decent human being? (at least I fancy to consider myself one)

And so on. What a different world we live now... I never considered myself a pacifist, but I also never before thought I will feel certain satisfaction in some moments of a/this war. Yet I do. It changed many of us I suppose...

@pony If this makes you feel uneasy, I guess you wouldn't like to play Monument Valley (https://www.krasamo.com/game-design-inspiration-monument-valley-i-and-ii/) 🙂 - I admire and like that game a lot. Those screenshots came to my mind immediately when I saw the picture.

Anyway, I get what you mean. Could it be that you don't have mainstream tastes and emotional reactions? But then again, what do I know... Maybe most people indeed cringe when they see that setting. I don't. I'd call it "interesting" - as @piggo did too.

@pony you are thinking too much about it. Sure you are right when you start to dissect it. For others it's colours, textures, lights, etc. What other see are things like "royal space" --> luxury, "dimmed lights" --> cozy, "old architecture" --> conservative, upper-class and serious, those who recognise the space, or know it otherwise perhaps think "ours, national, us", etc. All the right keywords and branding for a president. What can you want more?

@pony it's a matter of subjective judgement/preference. I see how this setting looks attractive an upper-class to many, if perhaps not the majority of tv viewers.
