In the last 24 hours journalists out of Gaza report:
•IDF killed another journalist named Samer Abu Daqqa
•IDF killed 3 Israeli hostages who were shirtless and waving white flags, named Yotam Haim, Alon Shamriz, and Samer Talalka
•IDF killed two Christian women at the Latin Church in Gaza, named Nahida Anton & her daughter Samar
•IDF bulldozed over a refugee camp, killing people inside

Jews, Christians, Muslims — all murdered. I am horrified and aghast. None of this is self defense.

The election in 2024 is a crucial one for our democracy and our rights. Abortion rights, in particular, are on the line. Men: Please speak up in support of women on this issue. We need to hear from you as well.

When we fret about inflation, we need to remember why it happened in the first place.

I just visited a site that 'archives' articles from 2015. The majority of links no longer works.

What to do? You could archive pages, and link to the archived pages (I've seen many people do this). But how durable is that? Will those archival sites exist still in 10 years time?

I'm used to consult books that are centuries old. That we're unable now to archive digital stuff for longer than a couple of years is terrifying. #archives #digitalhumanities

1. Facts: Is the information supported by facts that can be confirmed through established methods of validation, meeting legal, scientific or logical standards of proof?

2. Source: Is the information from a provider with a history of accurate reporting?

3. Method: Does the source use professional and accepted techniques of factual reporting without relying on deceptive tactics or logical fallacies?

Never put a lie in the headline.

Use a truth sandwich when reporting on lies.

Wait, THAT'S what red looks like?!

I've known that I'm partially colorblind - now described as color vision deficiency - for twenty years or so.

Today @oceanbound gave me a pair of EnChroma glasses and I'm absolutely blown away.

I've spent two hours wandering around the house and re-learning what everything looks like!

Ana has red hair.
Z has four colors of fur, not three.
My favorite pieces of art have red in them, not brown.
The leaves on the trees outside aren't the color I thought they were.

I've been trying to figure out how to describe what I'm feeling right now and the closest I can get is that the spectrum of colors visible to me suddenly got much larger.
