Hello people, since this instance is fairly new (I actually created it just a few hours ago) I'm trying to get as many people as possible to follow me so I can follow back and initiate federating to grow my instance's federation and populate my timeline.

When companies say things like "if you are not in the office three days a week we will penalize you at performance review time" they are inherently contradicting their own claims that remote work results in reduced productivity.

If remote work were bad, you wouldn't need to add an artificial penalty for working remotely, it would show up IN the performance data.

If you have to threaten people with artificially lowered performance scores for not coming into the office, you are admitting that performance has nothing to do with RTO.

Back is bad still but I think it’s getting better. Pain like this drains my energy and ability to think. Other worries start to come to the forefront. A lot of mornings I have a sob while I get ready.

But I know that when I start moving, and I take my meds, I’ll start to feel better.

My first thought was that Mattel/Warner Bros has *some nerve* using Aqua’s "Barbie Girl" in the actual Barbie movie (after suing them into the stone age when the song came out in the 90s). But my second thought is that I hope Aqua makes ENORMOUS TRUCKLOADS of cash from the movie to make up for it.

I’ve said it before, but I need to say again that I take it personally when community conferences choose a fun or familiar location over one that is safe for their LGBTQIA+ and even women attendees at a time of historic, concerted legislative and criminal attacks against us. It tells me absolutely all I need to know about your leadership and care for the diverse cybersecurity community. There are plenty of affordable venues in places that aren’t banning emergency healthcare and harassing people for using the bathroom.
