Their crash investigation team had some particularly harsh words for Dave Matthews.

Very happy to announce the first episode of our new Batteries Included Podcast is now up! Sort of a soft opening through August, leading to an official launch on September 1.

How does "The first robotic servicing mission on the surface of Mars" sound to y'all?

Well, if you're #NASA #JPL, this awesome headline could be yours for the low cost of a few nitrogen puffs!

This thread is just me fantasizing how Perseverance could potentially use its gDRT to clean the dusty solar panel and camera lens on Ingenuity and make history with this extraordinary servicing operation! 🧵

We’re less than 3,000 signatures away from our goal, but we need your support to cross the finish line. Take a stand and demand that we end this horrific treatment of migrants at the Texas border.

My tombstone will read “Bug fixes and performance improvements.”

Dear followers here on mastodon, ever since MurX took over, I've regarded mstdn as my home base. But I've posted 'over there' in parallel because too many important actors still refuse to be here. And in my field, with my objective of contributing mainly original content, being part of a much larger conversation that might change the debate in climate science and social ecology amid all the backlash remains important.

But I am done, and this is what I posted there.
A thread 🧵.

Deleted the previous version of this as it once again showed up as a reply to someone else.

@mcc this exists! Took me a while to find it, but I did- MIT Media Labs had a project called “Junkyard Jumbotron” https://github.com/mitmedialab/Junkyard-Jumbotron
You take a bunch of phones, tablets and other screens, have them all arranged on a wall or flat surface. Each gets assigned a unique QR code, then you take a photo of the resulting assembly of screens, and upload it to the display URL. The project code then ID’s where each screen is located, and runs an image transform to show the appropriate portion of the source image onto the resulting aggregate display.
Was way fun when I tried it years ago. Try it!

So I’m looking for new embedded software/firmware clients. Preferably part-time contract, closed ended if possible. I’m a generalist so I can contribute to lots of projects of different configurations from low level device work up to (prototype) mobile app work. If you’re looking for help or know of leads I’m reachable here or at “chris at logicalelegance.com”. #embedded #jobsearch

I'm looking for more people in the human-computer interaction (#HCI) field to follow here ... if you are out there?

Please do comment and boost if you are one of them. Feel free to do so even if we are already following each other, other people might benefit from it.

Thanks!

This needs to be boosted far and wide as a template other news organizations can follow. 6 hours ago they posted “hello world” and now the local feed for the #BBC mastodon server has postings from some of their shows. Stop on by their local feed and favorite, boost or just say Hi. https://social.bbc/public/local Thanks to @BBC_News_Labs @BBC5Live @BBCRD @BBCRadio4 @lisamelton @jeff https://fediscience.org/@Ruth_Mottram/110809282977375207
