Do any friends have a company in Germany that could hire a junior web developer at the moment? Either as a junior or intern?

I've a friend who's desperately in need of work so she can retain health insurance and stay in the country, after her last internship fell short of 6 months (company failed).

If you know of anything, please reach out! Boosts welcome!

#introduction Hi, I'm Seb. I'm in my mid-forties and self-realized as #actuallyautistic this past Summer. Probably also #adhd, but I'm not there yet.

I'd love to connect with other #neurodivergent individuals and chat it up.

Please boost for a wider demographic 😉

Like so many others here, I recently passed my one-year anniversary of joining Mastodon. It's been a joy.

I have slightly more than half of the followers here that I had on the deadbird site when I stopped posting there -- and conservatively, 10 times the genuine engagement in boosts, favorites, and replies with the Mastodon account.

My thanks to @Gargron and his team for their hard work.

(Advice: If you aren't donating to your instance, please do so.)

Today marks one year since I walked away from 360,000 followers on that other site joined this incredible community here!

That was easily one of the most positive moves I've ever made, and I frankly haven't looked back. Thank you to @jerry and everyone else who keeps this place humming. Come to think of it, it's time to renew our annual support!

No wonder Microsoft is taking so much interest! It all makes sense now 😂

I've been told that I'll be required to return to the office several days a week starting this month.

I have a vulnerable partner who would likely not survive covid. I am fighting this but it would be irresponsible of me to not start interviewing.

If you have a remote data engineering or architect opportunity, preferably Senior to Principal level, I can provide my resume. I have a ton of Snowflake and SQL Server experience as well as over a decade building in AWS.

I have often wondered why, when stores close, landlords leave the spaces empty for years at a time instead of lowering rents. The answer, apparently, is banks often won't let them:

👋 Hi there, Fediverse!

Via @emptywheel:

WOWOWOW.

It must really suck for all those people whose full time job it is to **report** on Congress who should have known better about this being an "offset."

Surely they're all crafting apologies for their subscribers right now?

🚨 BREAKING -- CBO says the #House's #Israel aid bill is not offset at all.

Will add $12.5B to the deficit in the next decade.

Cuts to IRS will decrease revenue by $26.7B

Imagine you are given the opportunity to design an ideal society. You can structure it any way you want. Now, repeat the experiment, but this time there are two things to keep in mind: 1) after setting up the system, you will be reborn into the world you designed with no memory of having designed it, and 2) you will be randomly assigned a gender, race, age, wealth, intelligence, and ability level. This thought experiment was created by philosopher John Rawls (1921-2002).

Hey folks, I have a project going on to support the ACLU.

If you are or know some musician/producer types, would you consider taking part or sharing?

Thanks!
