This is why I ended up with a Hyundai Ioniq rather than a Tesla. Tesla had a head-start of years in the EV space, but has largely squandered it with a stagnant product line and crap like this. The rest of the industry has now caught up. Teslas used to be the only cool EVs around, but now just about every carmaker has an EV that is competitive or better in every way. Tesla is just not keeping up and hostile crap like this is poison to a brand.

@gemelliz @theLUCASTDS @brownecfm You might already know this, but I learned something interesting about measles that applies to COVID as well.
Measles suppresses the immune system when we are trying to fight it off, and according to the paper linked below, the effect may last 2-3 years. When the measles vaccine was introduced, apparently a drop in the incidence of other diseases was noticed. It wasn’t because the vaccine was effective against those other diseases, it was that the measles virus wasn’t given a chance to suppress the immune system.
My understanding is that COVID acts in a similar fashion. So not only will people suffer from COVID, and post-COVID/long COVID symptoms, they will likely also experience an increase in contracting other diseases.
That’s my ham-fisted understanding, anyway.
"I'm apolitical" or "I don't get involved politics" just means you have the privilege of being favoured by state policies regardless of which party wins the election and you are blind to this privilege.
Never trust apoliticals. They will never have your back when your very existence is politicised and attacked.
@BruceMirken @JamesHMcLaren I guess. But that you and me know that seems a weakness in his acumen.
You’re right though: he has done what he has done and escaped prison so far.
This is a masterclass on how not to change a company name.
Anyone else would not change the name to a trademark their competitor owns, the logo to a symbol they cannot own and then try to take down the sign at headquarters only to have the cops shut that down because they had no permit. 🤦♂️
A trifecta of oopsie daisies. Should we let them release robot cars onto the roads?
At least two of these three consortia include companies involved in the #OttawaLRT fiasco. So this will go well. Why in God’s name isn’t #VIA running this? https://www.railwaygazette.com/infrastructure/three-qualify-for-canadas-high-frequency-rail-project/64566.article
In numerical terms, this must be one of the biggest corrections ever made by a newspaper.

Imagine controlling a brand whose name and associated actions have, miraculously, entered the language of everyday life in the only way that can really happen … just a purely organic process of adoption, to the point where competitors use pastiches of “your” words. The kind of thing marketers dream of but know in their hearts cannot be artificially induced. Astonishingly valuable. Now imagine you are a boneheaded narcissist billionaire with a long-term fixation on the letter ‘x'.
Breaking #news: billionaire mega-landlord of commercial #properties and #billionaire manufacturer of #shitty #cars would prefer if you #commuted.
College professor, part time nerd and sci-fi enthusiast. Not actually a duck, but what’s Humphrey Bogart got that I ain’t got?
