@JohnShirley2023 @trammel@mastodon.online @sbdivya I haven't slandered anything. I am not the Hugo nominee. I highly doubt anyone has slandered anyone or anything but China, and I can understand that point of view. Most governments are worthy of a bit of slander.

@JohnShirley2023 @trammel@mastodon.online @sbdivya Is acting out of vanity immoral, in your opinion? If not, why bring it up at all? If it is, how?

@w7voa , figure they caught maybe 90% of them. Those odds change if the person was actively concealing them.

@cep @JohnShirley2023 @sbdivya , I strongly agree with this. Even when I changed values, which I have from time to time, those earlier positions I took I am unashamed of. I wouldn't take the same position NOW, but then I did, and I have no regrets. I do regret several actions I took where I tried to be popular, or go with the flow, or follow the herd when I disapproved of those actions.

@JohnShirley2023 @sbdivya , those people need to be true to themselves. That isn't any of my concern.

@olmitch @alecui @freemo @realcaseyrollins 1946.... Most of us would think of that as pre-history. After that quote, Byrd said being in the KKK was the biggest mistake he made in his life." He said that also in pr-histoy, about 1950.

@olmitch @alecui @freemo @realcaseyrollins Byrd left the KKK in about 1945, at age 20? And I highly doubt Biden is hanging out with Byrd anymore.

@JohnShirley2023 @sbdivya , I am 60 now, and do not regret a single virtue I took a principled stance on, from my earliest days to now. Even those stances where I have changed position.

@freemo I have always considered Joseph Jenkins Roberts to be the 1st black American president... although with a small caveat.

@freemo @alecui, I would argue that Reagan was pro segregation too, but mostly I agree with you.

@Talia_christine , and fun. It's a business called "Panting with a Twist" in Lexington KY. this was a couples night, although many just did single panels. They walk you through the process step by step until you end up with that. And naturally, you can modify what you wish, and they give you help ideas. I had to add a Tardis... Everyone else had a moon there.

@Talia_christine @bkm , I'm busted. Now you know I don't obsessively read all of your posts. :)

I'm curious, if a 12 year old gets a driver's licence in Kansas (or wherever they have an age that low) could they legally drive anywhere in the USA? How about a resident of a state that doesn't have a minimum age for a scooter, can they drive a scooter anywhere in the US?
