@t4hiro @MaryAliciaZiff @protecttruth , the prices are actually going way up... because the quality is going up too. You can easily spend $20K, and get lithium ion batters that will carry the car 150 miles or so. But, for a city car, you don't need to spend that much.
@t4hiro @MaryAliciaZiff @protecttruth it looks like I can do it for about $10K. Out of my price range for what is essentially a toy, but I think doable for most folks.
@gaypharm , paper, but I BUY more e-books, because the piles of books in my house are a fire hazard.

For soul... I have a pretty weird collection of cars, a 74 Saab Sonett, a 68 VW kit car, a 51 Chevy van. I want to electrify the kit car as well. Those costs are getting pretty low.
@t4hiro @MaryAliciaZiff @protecttruth , I preordered an Aptera, for myself. My issue with Tesla is the right to repair. I am more an engineer than an artist, so 'ugly' doesn't mean anything to me. I like 'function' over all else. Tesla's 'function' very well. Even with their older designs.
@t4hiro @MaryAliciaZiff @protecttruth I just don't understand WHY. Teslas are great cars, honestly the best cars on the road today. Amazingly safe. I understand thinking Musk is an idiot, he is. And Ford was a bigot who helped the Nazis. Walter Chrysler and William C. Durant (G.M.) hated unions. I doubt there is an honorable one among the lot of them... So just judge the product.

@TonyaCanning @flexghost , I just read an article that described her as "still coloring inside of the lines", and that the DOJ has a process to expedite security clearances in cases like this, the only holdup is that the trump main lawyer is a registered foreign agent for Venezuela.
I wonder if the MAGAs know that....

Portland OR, spring of 2021 , me and my family were headed to the park on Shabbat, it was the first time we been out in a while (both parents are trans and 1 of our 3 children are trans). My partner was pushing me in my wheelchair and the oldest was pulling a red wagon that my trans child was sitting in, the youngest was walking beside me. Three men come up behind us and attack us and attempt to abduct my trans child. We were screaming for help while a group of 10 or more people watched on. NO ONE CAME TO OUR AID!! My partner (trans femme) used some tactics to get the men to back off and we went straight to the park where we were supposed to be anyway. I had data on my smart phone and was messaging a local mutual aid trans safe Facebook group telling them what happened and asking for back up to walk us home. I got some thumbs up and one comment: "I'm sorry that happened to you" and then nothing. No one came .

Arm yourself
Move in groups.
Film everything.
I feel for you, but I can't protect you. No police force will protect you, no advocacy org will be able to be there at all times.
@flexghost , I highly doubt most lawyers who would work for trump can get a security clearance.
@MaryAliciaZiff @protecttruth , also, addressing recalls, those happen every day, but with many cars, it is done over the air with a software upgrade. Yu no longer need to go to a dealership and have parts added or replaced for all recalls.
@MaryAliciaZiff @protecttruth , 17 deaths since 2019.... 17 deaths per DAY is what other car companies experience. 17 since 2019 is an incredibly low number. I mean astronomically low.
