I don't have the energy to argue with the people who tell me that by linking to ElonJet's Mastodon account, I am supporting stalking because I don't think they are arguing in good faith. They are weirdly unconcerned with stalking, harassment, or threats to people who don't own private jets, such as the gay former Twitter employee Elon falsely claimed supported pedophilia last week.

Just a general note of advice: if you've been convicted of a federal crime for trying to extort/DDoS a media website to get it to take down an article about an older crime you were convicted of... maybe don't then contact another website that reported on your arrest for the DDoS extortion, and try to get them to remove their article about you claiming it's false.

Big Tech's self-dealing and walled gardens are a big part of the reason it has been hard for open source, federated, and decentralized alternative social media networks like #mastodon to grow and compete with the corporate giants.

#AICOA and #OAMA won't magically fix that overnight, but they'll put us on a path where alternatives like #mastodon, #matrix, etc can compete on a more level playing field and eventually surpass or replace companies like Meta, Twitter, YouTube, etc

URGENT: Congressional leaders are deciding TODAY whether or not to move forward crucial Big Tech #antitrust legislation.

There is still a real chance we can get #OAMA and #AICOA over the finish line this year. These are important bills that would crack down on self dealing and #monopoly abuses. This matters to #mastodon. It matters to #opensource. It matters for #humanrights.
