Think about all the humor the world didn't get to see before Twitter existed. The parodies alone!

This is a change in tactics and important to note. The linked thread explains how obscenity laws have been used against LGBT people in the past.

I’m seeing lots of schadenfreude about the guy “losing” $200 billion. It benefits no one. A better way would be to tax the megabillionaires fairly: i.e., returning the bulk of their wealth to the society that made them rich in the first place.

Are we clear now extreme disparities of income—and particularly subsidizing billionaires—is not great for a healthy, stable society?

A new study estimates that 7% of Americans (19 million people) have Long COVID (LC). 25% report it affects their daily activities "a lot." Interestingly, LC is more prevalent among folks age 25-34 than among folks age 65+.

But masks make you look silly, amiright?

It’s not a joke what Andrew Tate was doing. It’s disgusting and the literal definition of human trafficking.

2022 is rapidly departing and 2023 is about it make its grand entrance. It’ll likely be a quiet night at home. As I reflect on 2022, I wonder what topics I should include in my #blogging activities for 2023. Any #suggestions?

#csa and #csam #prevention and #research? #academiclife? #parenthood? While I continue to write traditional academic papers, writing #popularscience pieces is more rewarding. Hoping to start #freelancewriting in 2023.

Last night, I got really frustrated about Mastodon's lack of comment control.

To me, this feature is an absolute must -- and is critical to community safety.

So what did I do?

I looked for it on other Fediverse platforms!

Then I found that it existed on Streams (see screenshot).

When I mentioned that this existed, devs from Epicyon and Pinetta told me that this is a feature they're developing too.

Moral: if something doesn't exist on Mastodon, the Fediverse might still have it!

Andrew Tate’s video in response to Greta Thunberg allowed Romanian authorities to confirm he was in the country, and arrest him in human trafficking investigation, due to the pizza chain shown in the 2-minute rant.
