This is my other #Robin friend, Hedgy (named because he lives in the hedge outside my home). He pops his beak out of the hedge to see me every morning, and I throw him a bit of food. He's moulting at the moment, which is why he looks a bit scruffy. In #Bath #Somerset #UK.

Over on tiktok user @nomadicpancakes has observed a group of #bees that have learned to turn on the sensor on a water bottle filling station by walking over the target.

This is just the kind of thing bees are made to learn, they love targets and need to follow them when dealing with flowers all the time.

The interesting thing is that the bee who hits the target produces water for her sisters, herself less so. But these #eusocial girls seem to have that worked out!

A bit of outbreak in our snail lab 🐌 made me think about other snail researchers including @DenisMeuthen

Physella (Physa) acuta is one of the most abundant freshwater snail species. They often invade aquariums of any kind!! This species is considered beneficial to keep aquariums clean by eating off organic matters.

They have a lot interesting features in behaviour, genetics and more! And they are lefty (usually snails are right-handed 🌀)

When you look at some fern spores under a microscope and the spores are just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

虽然水豚会吃自己的屎（因为消化不好 所以屎里还残留了很多营养物质 再吃可以再吸收一遍 而且我查了一下发现水豚的屎长得像咖啡豆一样……），但“别的动物喜欢吃水豚的屎”在英文世界没有出现类似描述

水豚在自然环境下发现捕食者天敌也还是会躲到水里的，某些合照有可能是ps的

不过我又发现了更多水豚可爱照片！以及总结这种生活态度“live and let live”

最近水豚很火，突然发现水豚也有类似特质捏，虽然作为最大的啮齿动物依然没有大到能保证完全不被吃，但和包括鳄鱼在内的很多动物关系良好合影众多，据说是因为它的屎非常美味大家都爱吃 （小红书某评论：类似你的朋友能自我生产麦乐鸡）

More cardoon! It's early evening and the bees are buzzin'. I love sitting here in my chair watching them work. It's pretty cute actually, I don't know what I pictured them doing but it wasn't this: they fly into the purple fronds at speed and then roll around like they're showing off their moves. I'm only assuming they're doing bee work, it's entirely possibly this cardoon has become the world's first Bee Disco. Which I fully support btw.
