Finally some clarity we apparently broke the long standing rule of "use or access the Licensed Materials to create or attempt to create a substitute or similar service or product to the Twitter Applications”.

I guess I didn't realize long standing actually means a couple hours ago, once again I'm deeply sorry.

Religious leaders sue to block Missouri's abortion ban | AP News

Their argument is that lawmakers openly invoked their religious beliefs in passing this law. Therefore it imposes the religious beliefs on others.

Appalling: A school district near me takes down rainbows because their braindead lawyer said they would open the district to "appropriate criticism." No, the criticism is that you are bigots teaching our children. For shame!

Kevin McCarthy and the GOP's plan to raise taxes on the elderly Americans who put them into office is one of the greatest political betrayals in this nation's history. (Oh, and a 30% freakin' sales tax also screws the rest of us too.)

How is abortion an economic issue?

Being forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term means:

— Families are 4x more likely to live below the poverty line
— Parents are 3x less likely to work full-time
— Parents are 6x more likely to receive public assistance

If you don't think that the virulent and open racism that’s always been prevalent in this country is present and continuing today, then you are either not paying attention or are unwilling spend any time thinking critically about things that happen all around you.

Think if you want that it’s limited to Florida and that DeSantis has no national appeal, but it’s not just going on in Florida. It’s part of the Republican plan.

Ron DeSantis is pushing education in Florida much further right-

I'm just catching up with this excellent and very well-written piece on how social networks, which were good, evolved into social media, which is evil, and why social media may be dying.

So, finally, Musk's minions have acknowledged why they locked out third-party Twitter clients: The purpose is to force users onto Twitter's own website and apps.

Remember, they lied earlier to justify killing off the competition, claiming violations of the rules. Since there were no violations they could point to, they rewrote the rules.

Anyone who trusts Musk and Twitter at this point is willfully stupid.

An absolute kick in the teeth to all the indie devs who worked so hard to make Twitter a better experience for so many. Twitterrific was officially discontinued today and pulled off the App Store after 16 years of development. Among other firsts, they first used "tweet" to describe an update, first used a bird icon, and were the first native client on iPhone and Mac. blog.iconfactory.com/2023/01/t

MAGA radicals are refusing to raise the debt ceiling unless Biden agrees to devastating cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

They don't actually care about the debt.

They're willing to drive the economy off a cliff in order to chip away at our most vital social programs.

The problem with that is the ordinary user doesn't want to have to run a server (indeed, most users may not have the foggiest clue how) in order to store their passwords locally. managers do everyone a great disservice when they do not offer the option to store passwords in a database on the same computer the password manager runs on, with nothing extra for the user to set up. I believe that may allow you to do this but since I am not using it (yet) I'm not certain.

STOP USING “REFUTES” AS A SYNONYM FOR “DENIES.” I just saw a headline claiming George Santos “refutes” new allegations against him. Needless to say, he hasn’t refuted anything. He’s denied allegations, and is almost certainly lying. Sloppy usage misleads readers.

@daschners I used your command to find the most used command from the #shell history (mine keeps 10.000 lines)

And I was quite surprised about the result 😀

563 exit
297 mc
138 df -h
121 tmux att
97 top

the whole history contains 5.417 unique command.

PS: The command adapted for #Bash users

sort ~/.bash_history | uniq -c | sort -nr | head -20
