The lawyer who advised Trump’s 2020 election scheme could lose his California law license. Meanwhile, he’s pushing a fringe election theory at the Supreme Court. (via Deadline: Legal Blog)
Hayes Brown: The biggest effect of Trump’s return to Facebook isn’t the reopened fire hose of lies. It's the renewed stream of cash to his 2024 coffers.

I understand why some people don’t like algorithmic feeds. There is a feeling not only that you don’t have control in what you are presented and that the machines/people who do have control are optimizing for their objectives (max engagement + $) not yours (value for time…). That feeling is justified.
Throwing out the idea of computers helping us deal with info overload and discovery of things we truly care about is not, IMO, justified.

It turns out they did catch the guy. Sounds like they just charged him, not his sons too.
I'm still shocked that not much has been made of the fact that this was an obvious attempt to make the Cleveland BLM protests appear "violent" these people weren't with the protest. It's a very real thing that happens but it's like no one cares.

I’m not an #openai or #chatgpt fanboy but the list of big tech Machine Learning visionaries heavily criticizing the technology when their company doesn’t offer an alternative is very telling. Here is an idea: release a competing product and beat the product if it’s so bad. That’s the beauty of market economies and capitalism. Anything less than that makes them sound like someone ate their lunch in my opinion.

I hope there's a whistleblower at the New York Times and/or FBI who will reveal the source or sources who got the Paper of Record to help Trump win the presidency and derail the Clinton campaign.

The metastasizing FBI scandal has many facets, but unraveling the Times' role is crucial for journalism -- and the paper has stonewalled relentlessly since 2016.
This is really interesting use of AI. Hand writing fonts notoriously feel ‘off’ because even if well designed they look the exact same when repeated. “Super Super Super” would return 3 stings that look identical. But AI can return strings with similar structure but subtle variations.
